Car Rally
Posted on June 16th, 2008 at 12:56 pm by megantai and

On Saturday night my friend and I went to a car rally. First we had to get into car groups and grab some questions and answer sheets and off we went. We were the second last to leave and we ended up passing a hole lot of people. One of the questions was to get out of the car and run around the tennis court fence and count how many gates there were. We passed two people on that because our driver blocked the other cars from leaving! Another time we passed someone was on the question what cows are featured on this road? The car in-front of us had to stop to read the words Jersey cows but we didn’t we just keep driving and we passed them!!! We ended up winning and getting to where we had to go first. We got Twix bars and crunchy bars!! It was so fun!!

Another Karamu Horse Trek experiance!
Posted on June 9th, 2008 at 10:11 pm by megantai and

On Sunday I went with my friend again to Karamu Horse Trek!! I was so excited I just wanted to get on the back of a horse any horse!! When we got there we got given the horse we had to ride. I got a horse called Bambino. She was really cute! Not long after we started my horse decided it wanted to go down a dip in the ground so it did and at the time I was cantering and as she went down the dip i fell off as she had been swaying her head around. This was the first time I had ever fallen off a horse, so it was quite scary!

After that I felt a bit scared but I hoped back on and kept going. I had broken my finger the day before so that didn’t help! It was a really hilly ride it was almost straight up and down. I really didn’t want to fall off again because I had hurt my leg, arm and hip.

Apart from falling off I had an awesome time and would love to do it again, but without the falling off part!!!!!!!

Tech Arts
Posted on June 5th, 2008 at 4:14 pm by megantai and

At the moment for tech arts I am doing Food. So far I have made Banana cake, wedges, and hot potato savouries. First when we get there we find a kitchen that we want to work at and then we do a food search. What you have to do is find how you have to cook or bake your food and what temperature you need it on and if you need to fan bake it or boil etc…

After we have cooked our meal we have to write down the colour the flavour texture and if it is healthy or not. Then we have turns at doing the dishes and being the cleaner and drier. Then we get to eat our meal!!! =]

20 hour Famine
Posted on May 25th, 2008 at 1:03 am by megantai and

This weekend my friend and I did the 20 hour famine. We did the one where we couldn’t eat for 20 hours. We found it really hard after the first few hours.. We could only eat barley sugars and drink just juice. After a while we started to get really hungry we were so tempted to give up and go and have something to eat. But we didn’t. After a while the barley sugars started to taste yuck so we switched to Whethers Originals. We tried to find something to do that would take our minds off food but as hard as we tried we always saw some kind of food. When it had being round about 12 hours we were so hungry that we weren’t even hungry anymore. When I woke up in the morning I wasn’t at all hungry!! But we had to eat because we had a netball tournament to go to and we couldn’t go on an empty stomach. As we took our first bite it felt like heaven. The smell was so good and we finally remembered what it was like to have food because it was like we had forgotten what food tasted like. We are really happy we didn’t give up.

My holiday at Mount Manganui!
Posted on May 5th, 2008 at 6:16 pm by megantai and

My family and I went to Mount Maunganui. When we arrived it was night so I unpacked my things and lay down on the couch and watched TV. The next morning went down to the beach to go for a walk. I took our dog Sandy and she played in the sea. She is a Corgi. For the rest of the day we just hung around home. The next day we went down to Bayfair to go shopping. My sister got a new red coat and I got some new boots and jeans. My dad finds it a bit boring going shopping so he went and did his own thing. My sister, mum and I had Mc Donald’s for lunch. That was yum. Then my dad and I went up the mount. It was had work but worth the effort. The view was awesome. When I woke up the next morning I remembered it was my dad’s birthday. He went to a flying thing in Tauranga while we went to Bayfair again but we didn’t get anything. This was the day we had to go home so we packed up and cleaned the house and left. On our way home there was a car crash thankfully it wasn’t us! Two people had died so that was sad. Mount Maunganui was so fun.

Our Camp at Ohope
Posted on April 14th, 2008 at 2:07 pm by megantai and

On Tuesday Room seven and three went to Ohope Christian camp. When we got there we settled in. That night we went to the pools and went on the hydro-slide that was awesome. The next day we got up and had breakfast then room 3 went and got ready for the high ropes while room 7 got ready to do fishing, kayaking and a walk to shelly bay. Room 3 had heaps of fun. I went on 4 different high ropes. The first one I went on you had to walk along a thin rope but you were holding on to another rope. That was quite scary but I got used to it! The second one I went on you had to jump some planks, that was probably the most scary out of all of the ones I did! I actually went on that one twice because the first time I came down because I couldn’t't get up onto the first plank! The second time I was so happy because I did it and it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. Lucky last I went on a tire one and you had to swing from tire to tire but if you stopped swinging you would be stuck because you wouldn’t be able to touch the next tire. That day was really fun. After the high ropes we went to an Amazing Maize that was cool as well. That night we went to the pools that night too. The next day Room 7 went on the high ropes and the maize while we went fishing, kayaking and the walk to Shelly bay. I caught 4 fish I was so excited! Then we went kayaking and thankfully I didn’t fall out!!! Last for that day we went for the walk to Shelley bay. I found 2 star fish. On our way back to camp my brother came and tackled me on the beach it was so funny! He had been on a motorbike and had decided that he would come and visit me! We went to the hot pools that night which was ok because I could hardly touch the bottom haha! After that we were aloud going and buying some things from a shop with our money. Then we went back to camp and got ready for bed. In the morning we packed up our things and got ready to leave for home. On our way we stopped for lunch. I got subway!  (with my money) When we got back to school it was 2:00pm so we all got to go home early.

Finally the day had come for my birthday present from my friend, A HORSE TREK!!! I was so excited I love horses. When My Friend arrived to pick me up I was all ready. When we got there we meet our horses and then we hoped on them and had a play around on them to get them used to us and for us to get used to them!!  The instructor said the rules and then we started!  We were there for 2 hours. The trek was really hilly and we nearly fell of our horses at times when going down hills!! It was an awesome day and I will be doing it again because it was so fun and I have saved up especially for it. I would highly recommend it to everyone who loves horses it is the best thing ever!!!!!!!!!
